Serena J. Williams is an American-Dutch graphic designer and artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

She has worked independently since graduating from Willem de Kooning Academy in 2007. Her practice spans graphic design, typography, illustration and visual identity, with language and perception often at its core.

Sharing her name with one of the world’s most recognisable athletes has become an unexpected extension of these interests, raising questions around identity, recognition and perception that occasionally find their way into her work.

Her work has appeared in Steven Heller’s Design School Confidential and Verpakken Magazine, and she has collaborated with clients across publishing, corporate communication and the creative industries.

Alongside her practice, Serena teaches at Akademie Vogue in Amsterdam.
